Clean is a Relative Term

I knew I was going to be filthy for basically all of my time here, and I was ok with it as I have grown past the point of my earliest childhood years, wherein the smallest speck of dirt on any part of my clothing warranted a wardrobe change. What I didn’t realize was how quickly my clothing would become ridiculously dirty. But it’s ok. I’m still ok with it.

Fittingly it rained the first day we were here. After all, Whitehorse had greeted me this way, and I expected nothing less of Beaver Creek. I’m ok with it. I really do like rain because for all of my life it has been a novelty. I swear that the family farm where I grew up is one millimeter of rain away from being a desert. (Well, maybe that is a bit of an exaggeration but not by much).

<<Pause>>
I just saw a spider capture a mosquito through the netting on my tent as I was typing away. My only regret is that I didn’t get my camera in time. That would have been a sweet shot.

Anyway, rain is a novelty for me and so I quite enjoyed myself as we scurried about tying up tarps. Plus, my raincoat got a lot of compliments from our guests from Yukon College. Though I may now be ok with getting a little muck on me, sometimes I’m still a bit of a diva.

  1. The number of times you say "I'm ok with it", makes me second guess whether you are truly ok with it. Hope you have conquered your divaness by now.
